How We Build Your Custom Home, From First Conversation to Final Walkthrough

A custom home is a relationship before it is a project. We have worked that way since 1996.

  • 1. The Kitchen Table Conversation

    Reach out and one of our owners, Daniel or Anand, will get back to you personally. We meet in your current home or on the site of your future one, and spend most of that first conversation on you: how you live, what inspires you, and how you want to feel in the rooms we’re about to build.

  • 2. Preconstruction and Entitlements

    Preconstruction is where a design becomes fully defined. We sit at the table through design development, working alongside your architect and designer to detail the scope as the drawings evolve: every material, every assembly, every specification settled in advance.

    At the close of every major phase, we walk the home with you, your architect and designer. The next phase begins only when you're satisfied with the last.

  • 3. Building Your Home

    From the day the ground is broken, you’ll know what is happening on your site. Each evening we post photographs and a short written note to your private project portal. Every other week, a full client update. Many of our clients are out of state or overseas while we build, which is precisely why we work this way.

    At the close of every major phase, we walk the home with you, your architect and designer. After the foundation. After framing, when the rooms first take their proportions. After rough-in, before the walls close. After paint, before a single finish goes in. Each walk measures the work against your vision, and adjustments are made where they are wanted. If you cannot be here, we walk it live on video. Some builders do less, but one walkthrough at the end has never seemed like enough to us.

  • 4. The Handoff

    We walk the finished home before you do. Every system started, tested, and balanced. Every surface is cleaned. Nothing left on a list for you to find, because closing that list was ours to do. The home is presented in full, with a record of how each part of it should be cared for through the years.

    Then you live in it. Anything you'd like attended to in those first weeks, tell us and we’ll handle it. We don’t consider a home complete on the day we hand it over. It’s complete once you have lived in it and told us it’s right.

  • 5. The Years After

    In the months after you move in, we call to see how the home is living and how it’s treating you. Many of our clients never quite let us go from there. They hire us to keep their homes exactly as they received them, some a year on, some a decade. After thirty years, that’s the part we are proudest of.

Our commercial work tends toward hospitality and other high end spaces, where the level of detail and finish has more in common with a private residence than with conventional commercial construction.
